Get Ready for the Holidays

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Okay, so, the holidays are a few months away, but your online presence needs your attention now. Your plans for special products and service offerings during the holidays should include some key digital promotions through your website, social media, and email marketing. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Create gift packages and bundles.

Literally, create the packages, bundles, gift baskets and have a photo shoot. Use our tips for taking photos with a smartphone and be sure to take lots of photos in multiple formats (landscape, portrait, closeup, square, product only, product with a model, gift basket in a special setting, and every angle). Doing this will give you multiple photos to choose from when creating graphics and posts.

Update your website now.

If your website has 5,000 visitors per month, they are not all the same visitors every month and they’re not all visiting on the same day. Updating your website with holiday specials in September / October will allow more people to see your product or service offerings. Consider adding banner images, pop ups for preorders, or even a special holiday sale section or page. Plan social media campaigns.

Take some time to plan weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly campaigns to promote your holiday sales. Produce the graphics for each week, write the content, and gather your links. You may even consider paid social media ads or boosted posts where you spend $10 per week to reach a targeted audience. Also update the links in your bio and social buttons to point to your sale. Leverage email marketing.

Use the same content you produced for social media to leverage your email list too. If you don’t have an email marketing platform like MailChimp or Constant Contact, set it up in the next 7 days. Populate that platform by adding all of the client, friends, and family email addresses. Be sure to add a subscription box, form, pop up, or button on your website to gather more addresses from visitors. When people share their email addresses with you, that means they don’t mind and even expect to receive emails from your company.
